Founded by Cee, MotherTree was built from the ground up to solve the real-world friction of preserving oral histories, heirloom recipes, vintage media, and multi-generational family trees.
Based in the belief that technology should bring families closer together across generations, we design software that is powerful enough for dedicated family historians while remaining warm, simple, and accessible for grandparents and grandchildren alike.
Our Story
MotherTree was born out of a simple, quiet realization: our most cherished family memories were disappearing in plain sight.
It started with a box of old photographs sitting in a closet, a collection of handwritten index cards fading in a kitchen drawer, and a long video recording of a holiday gathering that nobody had rewatched in years. Modern social networks made it easy to share fleeting daily moments, but provided no real sanctuary for preserving true heritage. Traditional genealogy platforms offered extensive record databases, yet left ancestors feeling like static collections of names, dates, and black-and-white charts.
We created MotherTree.cloud to build something better, a living digital archive where family history feels personal, connected, and authentically human.
